Hettie the Heart Visits Local Primary School

Pure Engineering Group's work to raise money for the Children's Heart Beat Trust has caught the eye of the local community. Past pupil, Lauren Travers, our Marketing and Communications Executive, received an invite alongside our Mascot, Hettie the Heart, to the local primary school, St Malachys Carnaget, Newry. Lauren and Hettie cheered on the pupils and staff as they competed in the "Restart a Heart Live CPR training in a Guinness World Record Attempt". All participants did exceptionally well! The pupils of St Malachys also contributed to helping raise funds as they each brought in £1 to be donated towards our Just Giving fund pot. The children loved learning vital life-saving skills while telling Hettie the Heart "what makes their heart happy". Answers like dinosaurs, flying unicorns and their mummies. But a reply to conclude the day was "What makes my heart happy is helping Pure Engineering Group raise money for Children's Heart Beat Trust".

Our First Fundraiser In Support of Children's Heartbeat Trust

Pure Engineering Group hosted their first-ever fundraiser, and for it to reach the scale it did was an absolute dream! The idea started with a simple conversation between Lauren Travers, Pure's Marketing and Communication Executive and our General Manager, Charlotte Magennis. Charlotte's little boy Archie was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition at just five months old. It was a long road for the family to get Archie through surgery and thankfully into full heath. The Children's Heart Beat Trust held their hand every step of the way, so Charlotte wanted to give back. Lauren suggested a fundraiser and within an hour from the conversation, the plan was set in motion, with a five-a-side football tournament, family fun day and quiz on Sunday 28th September. What a day and what a community we have! The day was ecstatic. The carpark and play area were full of families of all ages, with vendors, entertainment and stall holders available to a range of age groups. The areas surrounding the football pitches were crowded with players and supporters. As raffle tickets were being sold Hettie the Heart, our mascot was dancing with children, pictures were being snapped at our photobooth, quiz prizes were being set up for a display. Everything we hoped for, turned out just perfect on the day. We would like to say a massive thank you to all that contributed to the event, without you all it wouldn't have been possible.

Pure Engineering Group Welcomes Pittsburg Business Delegation Ahead of Historic Steelers Match

Pure Engineering Group was proud to welcome a distinguished business delegation from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers' landmark game in Croke Park recently. The visit, organised with the support of Newry Chamber of Commerce, brought together representatives from Pittsburgh and local organisations to explore collaboration opportunities between US businesses and those located along the Dublin-Belfast Economic Corridor. The exchange highlighted the potential for strengthening economic ties and sharing expertise across industries. During their time with us, the delegates were given a guided tour of Pure Engineering Group's facilities, where they met our team and gained insight into the innovative projects we are currently delivering. Our Managing Director, Martin Mallon, shared details of recent developments, including the numerous advancements and the company's ongoing investment in innovation. A highlight of the tour was the unveiling of our new "Sporting Achievements" Wall, which showcases the synergies between sporting dedication and business success, both requiring teamwork, resilience and a drive to achieve excellence. We were delighted to host and connect with the following delegates: Jim Lamb, Institute of Ireland, Pittsburgh; Michael Henderson, Allegheny Conference, Pittsburgh; Steve Mitchell, Cornerstone Developments, Pittsburgh; Denis Rowan, LMETB, Dundalk; and Michael Savage, Newry Chamber of Commerce. This visit not only reinforced the importance of building international business relationships but also underscored the unique role sport plays in connecting communities across the globe. We thank our guests for taking the time to visit Pure Engineering Group and wish the Pittsburgh Steelers congratulations on their fantastic result at Croke Park.

Summer Team Bonding Day

Summer Team Bonding Day

Over the summer, our team was working on a large number of overlapping projects. Each and every person gave it their all, going above and beyond, once again proving that Pure Engineering Group is a trusted partner of choice for our clients. Pure Engineering Group wanted to give something back to its team and show them how valued their work is. So, the team travelled to Carlingford Adventure Centre/ Sky Park for an unforgettable team bonding day. From land challenges at the Crystal Maze to water quests, including canoeing and rafting, we were pushed to the limits! It will forever remain a mystery how so many people struggled not to sink while canoeing or keep their balance on the water. But every splash and wobble was done with laughter and smiles. The day was the perfect reminder that teamwork doesn't just happen in the office. It thrives when we're challenged, when we support one another, and when we share experiences that bring us closer together. We left Carlingford not only with sore muscles but with a stronger team ready to go head-to-head with many more projects.

Giving Back to Our Neighbours

Giving Back to Our Neighbours

Last month, the Pure Engineering Group team laced up our trainers and took on the Strava Step Up Challenge in support of our neighbours at the USPCA. Over the course of the challenge, staff tracked their steps and pushed themselves to go further each day. This combined fun, fitness and friendly competition for a cause that means a lot to our community. At the end of the challenge, we were delighted to donate the funds raised to the USPCA to help continue their incredible work. From veterinary care and grooming to training and the provision of safe spaces, the USPCA plays a vital role in protecting and caring for a wide range of animals in need across Northern Ireland. Our team had the privilege of visiting the USPCA faciity, where we were warmly welcomes by Cheif Exectuive Heather Weir. Heather shared valuable insights into the impact of their services and how the generosity of supporters makes a real difference to animals and families in our community. The moment of presenting the donation was made even more special by our challenge winners, Lauren, Charlotte and Alex, who proudly represented the Pure Engineering Group team. Their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the challenge captured the true spirit of why we took part. At Pure Engineering Group, giving back to the community is an important part of who we are. We are proud to stand alongside the USPCA and support the vital work they do. A big thank you to Heather and the entire USPCA team for their tireless commitment. We look forward to exploring more opportunities to support in the future.

Pure Engineering Group Supports Rathore Special Needs School

We were honoured to support Rathore Special Needs School’s 6-week work experience programme by welcoming Patryk to our team here in Newry. From day one, Patryk brought enthusiasm, humour, and focus to every task—from admin support to computer work—and quickly became a valued part of the Pure Engineering family. This initiative, championed by our own Charlotte Magennis, was especially meaningful, as she was inspired by her niece, who is non-verbal and autistic. She hopes more opportunities like this are available to every young person with additional needs. At Pure Engineering Group, engineering is about people as much as systems, and inclusion, accessibility, and diversity are essential to building a better industry and a stronger community. 👏 Huge well done to Patryk — we’re proud of what you achieved, and grateful to have had you with us!

Knowledge Shared at Mitsubishi Training

Expanding Expertise, Empowering Talent At Pure Engineering Group, we’re proud to champion technical innovation and inclusivity in mechanical engineering. Three of our team members, Aoibheann, Aoife, and Ellie, recently completed specialised EN378 training with Mitsubishi Electric Ireland. This deepened their expertise in: R32 refrigerant system selection – supporting F-Gas compliance & low-carbon design, and Risk assessment in HVAC installation – ensuring safety in every built environment. This training reinforces our commitment to sustainable HVAC solutions, ongoing learning, and empowering women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Thanks to Margaret Rafter at Mitsubishi Electric for leading such an insightful session. We’re not just building systems — we’re building the future of engineering.
