The Crooked Lake Triathlon once again brought hundreds of competitors, volunteers and supporters to the shores of Camlough Lake this summer, with Pure Engineering Group proud to play its part as an event partner for the 2026 event.
As one of the area's most recognised sporting events, the triathlon has become much more than a race. It is an occasion that brings together local families, businesses and sporting organisations while showcasing the determination and community spirit that exists throughout South Armagh.
For Pure Engineering Group, supporting the event reflects values that have been embedded within the company since its foundation. Teamwork, commitment and resilience are qualities that are essential both in sport and in business, making the partnership with the Crooked Lake Triathlon a natural fit.
The event also held personal significance for the Mallon family. Having grown up in Camlough, Directors Pádraig, Martin and Sean Mallon have long-standing connections to the lake and the sporting community that surrounds it. This year's triathlon saw three generations of the family represented, highlighting a tradition of participation in local sport that continues to this day.
Alongside family involvement, members of the Pure Engineering Group team were among those taking on the challenge of the swim, cycle and run disciplines. Their participation reflected the positive culture that exists within the business, where employees are encouraged to embrace challenges, support one another and maintain healthy, active lifestyles.
Despite less-than-perfect weather conditions, competitors were met by strong support around the course, with spectators lining key points around the lake from early morning until the final finishers crossed the line. The atmosphere created by volunteers, supporters and local residents once again demonstrated why the Crooked Lake Triathlon has become such an important fixture in the local sporting calendar.
Pure Engineering Group would like to congratulate Infinity Channel Swimming Ltd and the organising committee for delivering another successful event, as well as every competitor who took part.
As a company deeply rooted in the local area, Pure Engineering Group remains committed to supporting initiatives that bring people together, promote wellbeing and celebrate the strength of the community. The Crooked Lake Triathlon continues to do exactly that, and we are proud to be associated with its ongoing success.
