Wrights and Sons

Bringing together a café, deli, restaurant and bar under one roof, this new space offers visitors another reason to stop, dine and enjoy everything Kildare Village has to offer.

Pure Engineering Group believes that each detail contributes to the guest experience. Our team worked to provide comfort and safety while ensuring the mechanical installations aligned seamlessly with the aesthetics of the space.

The scope of of the mechanical package, includes:

  • VRF air conditioning system
  • Heat recovery ventilation
  • Kitchen ventilation
  • Gas services for restaurant including gas pressure proving interlock system
  • BMS Controls

VRF air-conditioning system

VRF stands for Variable Refrigerant Flow. It is an energy-efficient air-conditioning system that can heat or cool different areas of the building independently.

For example, the café, restaurant, bar and kitchen may all require different temperatures. A VRF system allows each area to be controlled separately while operating as part of one connected system.

Main benefits:

- Provides both heating and cooling

- Allows individual temperature control across different zones

- Adjusts its output to match demand

- Uses less energy than a system constantly operating at full capacity

- Helps maintain a comfortable environment for customers and staff

Heat-recovery ventilation

Heat-recovery ventilation brings fresh outdoor air into the building while removing stale indoor air.

Before the stale air leaves the building, the system recovers some of its heat and uses it to warm the incoming fresh air. This means less energy is needed to bring the fresh air up to a comfortable temperature.

Main benefits:

- Supplies a continuous flow of fresh air

- Removes stale air, excess moisture and indoor pollutants

- Recovers heat that would otherwise be lost

- Reduces pressure on the heating system

- Improves indoor air quality and customer comfort

Kitchen ventilation

A commercial kitchen produces significant amounts of heat, smoke, steam, grease and cooking odours. The kitchen ventilation system captures these contaminants and safely extracts them from the building.

It normally includes extraction canopies positioned above the cooking equipment, grease filters, ductwork, extraction fans and a supply of replacement air.

Main benefits:

- Removes heat, smoke, steam, grease and odours

- Creates a safer and more comfortable kitchen environment

- Helps prevent grease from accumulating throughout the space

- Supplies replacement air for the air being extracted

- Supports safe and effective operation of the cooking equipment

Restaurant gas services, including a gas pressure-proving interlock system

The gas services safely distribute gas to the restaurant’s commercial cooking equipment.

The gas pressure-proving interlock system is an important safety measure. Before allowing gas to flow, it checks that the gas pipework is maintaining the correct pressure and that there is no indication of a leak.

It also links the gas supply to the kitchen ventilation system. If the ventilation system is not operating correctly, the interlock can prevent gas from reaching the cooking appliances.

Main benefits:

- Safely supplies gas to the kitchen equipment

- Checks the gas installation for pressure loss before use

- Prevents gas from flowing if a potential fault is detected

- Links the gas supply with the kitchen ventilation

- Protects kitchen staff, customers and the premises

BMS controls

BMS stands for Building Management System. It acts as the central control and monitoring system for the building’s mechanical services.

The BMS can monitor equipment such as the air conditioning, ventilation and other connected systems. It can adjust operating times, temperatures and system performance based on how the building is being used.

It can also alert the facilities team when a fault occurs, allowing problems to be identified more quickly.

Main benefits:

- Controls connected systems from one central location

- Monitors temperatures and equipment performance

- Allows systems to operate according to programmed schedules

- Identifies faults and generates alerts

- Helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption

- Supports easier maintenance and long-term system management

In short, the package provides temperature control, fresh air, kitchen extraction, safe gas distribution and intelligent system management—all working together to create a comfortable, safe and efficient hospitality environment.
