The Baths at Clontarf

Pure Engineering Group carried out kitchen canopy installation works at The Baths restaurant in Clontarf, Dublin. Positioned above the central cooking line, the island canopy forms an important part of the commercial kitchen’s extraction arrangement. The project highlights the role of carefully coordinated kitchen fabrication in supporting a practical working environment behind an open restaurant kitchen.

The scope of works included:

  • Installation of a stainless steel island extraction canopy above the central cooking line.
  • Canopy features visible in the installation include grease filters and integrated lighting.

Island Kitchen Extraction Canopy

Our team installed an island canopy over the restaurant’s central cooking equipment. An island arrangement allows cooking stations to be accessed from both sides, making canopy positioning and coverage important considerations when coordinating the kitchen fit-out.

The canopy provides a collection point for cooking fumes and grease-laden air, working with the connected extract system to remove them from the kitchen. For restaurant operators, suitable extraction supports staff comfort and helps limit the spread of cooking fumes into adjoining areas.

Grease Filtration and Integrated Lighting

The photographed canopy incorporates removable metal grease filters and lighting above the cooking stations. The filters help separate grease from the extracted air and can be removed for routine cleaning.

Integrated lighting provides visibility over the cooking equipment without occupying additional workspace. Together, these features support the practical requirements of a busy restaurant kitchen, where access for cleaning and clear visibility matter throughout service.

Coordinating Fabrication with the Kitchen Layout

The installation sits above a cooking line with surrounding preparation areas and shelving. Coordinating the canopy with the equipment beneath it helps preserve access for chefs while accommodating the extraction requirements of the kitchen.

For contractors delivering hospitality fit-outs, this coordination helps ensure fabricated components fit the available space and work alongside the wider kitchen installation.
