Pure Engineering Group delivered fabrication works for the catering facilities at St Ita’s in Portrane, County Dublin. The proposed kitchen package brought together stainless steel extraction canopies, practical work surfaces and protective wall finishes, supporting the everyday demands of food preparation within a healthcare setting. Through our Pure Fabrication division, the focus was on durable, accessible finishes suited to regular use and cleaning.
The scope of works included:
Low-Level Wall Capping
Our team supplied and installed low-level wall capping in accordance with the project drawings. Capping provides a protective finish to the exposed tops of low-level walls, creating a neat edge around the working areas.
For contractors, fabrication to specified drawings helps coordinate the finish with the surrounding construction. For the building operator, a durable, wipe-clean surface supports routine cleaning and protects edges from everyday wear.
Kitchen Extraction Canopies
The photographed kitchen features stainless steel extraction canopies above the cooking equipment, with removable grease filters and integrated lighting. These canopies form the collection point for cooking fumes and grease-laden air before it enters the extract system.
Matching canopy coverage to the cooking layout helps support effective extraction. Accessible filters facilitate regular cleaning, while lighting provides visibility over the cooking stations—practical considerations for catering teams preparing meals throughout the day.
Preparation Tables and Work Surfaces
Stainless steel tables and work surfaces provide dedicated space for preparation and handling tasks alongside the cooking equipment. The photographed installation includes tables with lower shelves, making use of the space beneath the worktop for storage.
Purpose-made kitchen fabrication can accommodate the available floor space and surrounding equipment. This helps contractors coordinate the fit-out and gives catering teams accessible working surfaces that are straightforward to clean.
Sink Units and Kitchen Fabrication
The kitchen includes stainless steel sink units positioned within the working areas. Durable sink surrounds provide practical surfaces for washing tasks and help contain splashes around the basin.
Coordinating sinks, tables and adjoining finishes helps create a usable kitchen layout. For healthcare catering facilities, this supports organised working areas and the regular cleaning routines required in daily operation.
