Pure Engineering Group delivered air conditioning and kitchen ventilation works for Presto, bringing together customer comfort and the practical demands of an open restaurant kitchen. Cassette air conditioning units and exposed ventilation ductwork sit alongside stainless steel extraction canopies, with the visible services complementing the restaurant’s industrial interior.
The scope of works included:
Restaurant Air Conditioning
Cassette air conditioning units provide temperature control within the dining area. Their overhead positioning distributes conditioned air while preserving wall space for seating, finishes and the restaurant’s visual identity.
For restaurant operators, suitable air conditioning helps maintain customer comfort as occupancy and indoor temperatures change throughout the day. The maintenance record lists two AC units, supporting ongoing attention to the installed equipment.
Ventilation Within an Exposed Ceiling
Circular ductwork and air outlets run through the open ceiling, alongside lighting and other visible services. This arrangement makes ventilation part of the interior’s appearance, so routes and positioning need to be considered alongside the wider fit-out.
Ventilation introduces and removes air, while air conditioning controls temperature. Coordinating both functions helps support a comfortable dining environment without overlooking the restaurant’s design requirements.
Kitchen Extraction Canopies
The photographs show extraction canopies above the pizza oven and the separate frying area. Positioned close to the cooking equipment, these provide capture points for heat, fumes and grease-laden air.
In an open kitchen, effective capture is particularly important because cooking takes place close to customers. Matching the canopy arrangement to the equipment helps limit the spread of cooking fumes into adjoining preparation and dining areas.
Grease Filters, Lighting and Stainless Steel Finishes
The canopies incorporate removable metal grease filters, with integrated lighting visible above the pizza oven. Filters help separate grease from extracted air and provide access for routine cleaning, while lighting improves visibility over the cooking station.
Stainless steel splashbacks around the cooking equipment provide durable, wipe-clean surfaces. These finishes support regular cleaning and help protect the surrounding walls from cooking splashes.
