Pure Engineering Group delivered a range of bespoke kitchen fabrication works for Killeavy Castle Estate in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The package combined stainless steel preparation furniture and specialist fabricated components with cookline canopy and extraction works. From tables shaped to fit the available space to dedicated potato preparation items, the scope addressed the practical needs of the catering team.
The scope of works included:
Bespoke Stainless Steel Tables and Sinks
The fabrication package included stainless steel sinks and preparation tables sized around the kitchen’s requirements. One wall table measured 2140 × 700 × 900mm and incorporated two 45-degree rear angles, allowing its shape to accommodate the surrounding layout.
Undershelves provide storage beneath the preparation surface, keeping useful items nearby without occupying additional floor space. For contractors, fabrication to specific dimensions helps resolve awkward interfaces; for kitchen operators, it creates practical working areas suited to daily use.
Mobile Preparation Table
A 600 × 650 × 900mm stainless steel table was supplied on castors, complete with an undershelf. This provides a movable work surface that can be repositioned as preparation requirements change.
Mobile furniture also offers access to the floor beneath for cleaning, giving the catering team greater flexibility within the kitchen.
Specialist Food Preparation Components
The recorded fabrication works included a potato bath, a water-filter component for the potato peeler with a welded 80mm pipe, and flashing for a table opening. A perforated piece and meat rack were also listed.
These smaller components demonstrate the value of bespoke fabrication alongside larger kitchen items. Producing pieces to suit a particular opening, connection or preparation task helps adapt the installation to the way the team works.
Cookline Canopy and Wall Cladding
The cookline canopy scope specified a Basic Line canopy incorporating a filter bank, baffle filters, drip channel and LED lighting, with stainless steel wall cladding beneath.
The canopy provides the capture point for cooking fumes and grease-laden air. Removable baffle filters allow routine cleaning, while the drip channel collects grease draining from the filters. Lighting improves visibility over the cooking area, and wall cladding provides a durable, wipe-clean finish behind the equipment.
Kitchen Extraction System
The extraction scope included a centrifugal box fan, variable speed drive and galvanised steel ductwork to carry extracted air from the canopy to outside.
The fan provides the airflow needed for extraction, while the variable speed drive allows its speed to be adjusted to the system’s requirements. Coordinating the canopy, fan and ductwork supports effective removal of cooking fumes and heat from the working area.
