Gourmet Food Parlour

Pure Engineering Group’s project portfolio includes Gourmet Food Parlour in Galway, where a practical commercial kitchen sits behind a colourful restaurant interior. The photographed installation features a stainless steel extraction canopy above the cooking line, with baffle grease filters, integrated lighting and air distribution outlets. Together, these details illustrate how kitchen ventilation can be incorporated into a compact working space while keeping essential services separate from the customer dining experience.

The scope of works include:

  • Stainless steel kitchen extraction canopy above the cooking equipment.
  • Removable baffle grease filters.
  • Integrated canopy lighting.
  • Air distribution outlets along the canopy frontage.
  • Stainless steel wall cladding behind the cooking line.

Commercial Kitchen Extraction Canopy

The canopy extends above the cooking line, placing extraction close to the source of cooking fumes, heat and grease-laden air. Its arrangement follows the equipment beneath it, allowing the ventilation installation to sit within the kitchen’s narrow layout.

For restaurant operators and fit-out contractors, coordinating canopy coverage with cooking equipment is an important part of planning a practical kitchen. It helps ensure ventilation requirements are considered alongside preparation space, staff movement and equipment access.

Removable Baffle Grease Filters

The canopy incorporates a bank of stainless steel baffle filters. These separate grease droplets from the extracted air and can be removed for routine cleaning.

Accessible filters support the kitchen’s cleaning programme and make regular maintenance more straightforward. Maintaining the filters helps limit grease accumulation within the extraction system and supports its continued performance.

Integrated Canopy Lighting

Lighting incorporated into the canopy provides illumination directly above the cooking equipment. This brings task lighting into the extraction assembly without adding separate fittings over the cooking line.

For kitchen teams, visibility around cooking surfaces supports food preparation, equipment operation and cleaning. Integrating lighting into the canopy also helps make effective use of the available overhead space.

Air Distribution at the Cooking Line

A series of air outlets is visible along the canopy’s front edge. This arrangement introduces air close to the working area as part of the kitchen’s ventilation provision.

Considering air supply alongside extraction helps manage how air moves through a commercial kitchen. For contractors, coordinating these elements early helps avoid competing airflow patterns and supports a more comfortable workspace.

Stainless Steel Wall Cladding

Stainless steel cladding protects the wall behind the cooking equipment, providing a durable surface in an area exposed to grease, splashes and frequent cleaning.

Its position alongside the canopy creates a consistent finish around the cooking line. For restaurant operators, accessible, wipeable surfaces make daily cleaning more practical and help protect the surrounding building finishes.
