Pure Engineering Group was appointed to deliver a complete mechanical services package for Funky Monkeys in Newport, a dynamic indoor play centre designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for children and families. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and high visitor footfall, the venue required a bespoke solution tailored to public-facing areas and commercial kitchen operations. Pure Engineering’s systems were custom-designed to ensure optimal indoor air quality, intelligent climate control, and seamless integration of safety-critical infrastructure, all supporting a high-performing and family-friendly facility.

The scope of the work included:

  • Fire suppression System
  • Automatic detection and suppression of fires using wet chemical agents engineered explicitly for grease and high-heat applications
  • Seamless integration with the canopy extraction system and gas interlock units for complete kitchen safety automation
  • System activation shuts off fuel and electricity to affected zones instantly, preventing re-ignition
  • Built-in test and maintenance alerts to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and ongoing system readiness
  • Dishwasher extract system
  • Designed to remove excess steam, heat, and moisture from commercial dishwashing areas 
  • Integrated moisture sensors trigger extraction based on steam levels to optimise energy use and maintain comfortable working conditions
  • Condensation management to prevent water accumulation on surrounding surfaces
