Corporate Kitchen & Canteen Refurbishment

Pure Engineering Group carried out strip-out and reinstatement works within an existing corporate kitchen and canteen, enabling flooring refurbishment to take place. The project required careful handling of the existing installation, retaining the kitchen’s functional layout and distinctive appearance. Stainless steel catering surfaces and coloured canopy finishes formed part of an environment where practical food preparation areas complemented the wider interior design.

The scope of works included:

  • Strip-out of the existing kitchen and canteen installation to provide access for flooring works.
  • Reinstatement of the existing installation following the flooring works.

Kitchen and Canteen Strip-Out

Our scope involved removing the existing installation as required to allow the flooring contractor access to the working areas. In an established commercial kitchen, this stage requires consideration of the equipment layout, access routes and the sequence of the wider refurbishment.

For contractors, a clearly defined strip-out package helps coordinate enabling works with the trades that follow, allowing the floor refurbishment to progress.

Reinstatement of the Existing Installation

Following the flooring works, the scope provided for reinstatement of the existing kitchen and canteen installation. Reusing suitable existing components can reduce unnecessary replacement costs and material waste while retaining a familiar layout for the catering team.

This approach is useful for businesses upgrading their premises where the existing kitchen installation remains suitable for continued use.

Retaining the Interior’s Character

The photographed kitchen features coloured canopy fascias alongside stainless steel counters and cooking stations. These finishes illustrate how commercial kitchen equipment can sit within a considered interior scheme, particularly where food preparation areas are visible to staff and visitors.

For this refurbishment, the emphasis was on working with the existing installation. Retaining its visual character allowed the flooring upgrade to form part of the wider environment without requiring a completely new kitchen fit-out.
