Pure Engineering Group was selected to deliver a complete mechanical fit-out for Boojum’s flagship location on Great Victoria Street, one of the busiest and most recognisable branches of the popular fast-casual Mexican food chain. The project demanded a high-performance solution to support rapid kitchen operations, maintain energy efficiency, and ensure customer comfort. Pure Engineering designed and installed a custom system incorporating advanced ventilation, climate control, and fire safety infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

VRF/ VRV Air conditioning system- heat recovery

  • Smart climate control with Multi-floor VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioning system
  • Heat Pump providing refrigeration to indoor units, including pipework, cabling, condensate, and HVAC Systems installation)

Mechanical Heat recovery ventilation

  • Energy-efficient heat recovery ventilation system
  • Strip out the plant room equipment to allow PEG-installed services (ventilation solutions)

General ventilation

  • Extract ductwork, fire dampers, and grilles.

Fire smoke dampers

  • Advanced safety systems installed fire/smoke dampers with a smart control system

Mechanical MCC controls

  • Installation of 2kW electronic radiators, electrical control, MCC panel controls

Gas services and associated controls

  • Comprehensive gas system installation with leak detection
  • Gas pipework installation
  • Gas panel, gas leak detection, and gas interlock system

Fire suppression System

  • Automatic detection and suppression of fires using wet chemical agents 
  • Seamless integration with the canopy extraction system and gas interlock units for complete kitchen safety automation
  • System activation shuts off fuel and electricity to affected zones instantly, preventing re-ignition
  • Built-in test and maintenance alerts to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and ongoing system readiness

Dishwasher extract system

  • Designed to remove excess steam, heat, and moisture from commercial dishwashing areas 
  • Integrated moisture sensors trigger extraction based on steam levels to optimise energy use and maintain comfortable working conditions.
  • Condensation management to prevent water accumulation on surrounding surfaces

Kitchen fresh air system and associated controls

  • Ensures clean, filtered air is consistently introduced.
  • Maintains correct air pressure to prevent drafts, backflow, and energy loss
  • Temperature sensors to monitor air quality and automatically adjust airflow rates for optimal working conditions
  • Real-time monitoring, remote access, and fault alert systems
