Bespoke Service Wall

Pure Engineering Group designed and fabricated a bespoke stainless steel service wall for a high-volume commercial kitchen in Dublin. It's the piece of equipment nobody notices and everything depends on the spine that carries power, isolation and emergency controls for the entire kitchen, while supporting the equipment that sits on it.

A service wall has to be three things at once: a hygienic stainless structure, an electrical distribution system, and a mounting point for safety-critical controls. Getting those to coexist in a single unit with the loads carried, the services routed, and every panel still accessible for maintenance is where the engineering sits.

The features included are:

Integrated electrical connectors (3PH & 1PH)

Every appliance in the kitchen gets its own dedicated connection point, built into the underside of the wall rather than run off a distribution board somewhere else in the room. Three-phase for the heavy equipment, single-phase for the rest, all in one bank.

It keeps the floor clear of trailing leads, and it means equipment can be unplugged and moved for cleaning without an electrician.

Recessed isolator panel — fire suppression pull and emergency stop

These are the controls somebody needs to find in a hurry, without looking. Grouping them on one panel puts them in a single known location instead of scattered around the room.

Recessing the panel is the detail that matters: nothing protrudes into a working kitchen where people are moving fast, carrying trays, and squeezing past each other.

Pop-off access panels

Access to the wiring behind the face without dismantling the unit or moving the equipment sitting on it.

Most of the cost of maintaining kitchen equipment isn't the repair, it's the disruption of getting to it. Panels that lift off in seconds mean a fault gets fixed between services rather than closing the kitchen.

Integrated back boxes for 13A sockets

Welded into the panels rather than surface-mounted afterwards, so power comes up through the wall with no visible trunking and no fixings on the face.

Beyond the cleaner look, it removes the ledges and gaps that surface-mounted boxes create — nowhere for grease to collect, nothing to catch a cloth on.

Salamander shelf with insulated heat diverter

The salamander runs hot and runs constantly. The insulated diverter keeps that heat off the surrounding structure and away from anyone working underneath.

Without it, the heat goes into the stainless around it — uncomfortable to work near, and hard on the surrounding equipment over time.

Lift-off pot rack

The rack lifts away completely rather than being fixed in place, so the surface underneath can be cleaned properly at the end of service.

Anything permanently fixed above a work surface becomes a place that gets wiped around rather than cleaned. Making it removable takes that decision away.
